In this photograph, there is a flower in the middle of the image. There is also a background of tall grasses and leaves on the bottom, in the dirt, on the right side of the image.
When I first saw this photograph the position of the flower in the grass caught my eye. It's placed right in the middle of tall grass and most point away from the flower which I found interesting. When I was taking this picture I was thinking of how many different ways can I take this image. I could have either put the flower on the left, right, or the edge of the photo. I took many photos of this flower repeatedly and came out with this one, with the flower in the middle, which liked the most. When I took this image, I didn't expect it to look as it does. When I was looking through the viewfinder, I didn't see the shadows on the side of the photo, which I also found nice.
This photograph has a variety of elements of composition. The most obvious ones are color, lines, texture and space. There is color contrast from the grass behind the flower. Because the grass in is a deep kind of green, the purple in the flower especially pops out. The yellow also pops out over the white of the flower. There are lines in the grass and in the middle of the flower. There is texture in the right side of the picture because of the leaves in the dirt. There is also negative space around the flower, which is the grass. Another element is this image is symmetrical balance because both sides of the picture are the same. There is also slight movement in this photo because your eyes will immediately go onto the flower, which is the subject and emphasis of the photograph, and then trail off to the top right corner because of the way the grass around the flower is pointed to. There is also a sense of unity between the grass and the flower.
